Quality music lessons begin starts with experienced teachers. InTheShed Music Studio has been teaching professionally since 2001. Conveniently located near highway 11 on Kahshe Lake, providing in-person music lessons for the surrounding communities of Gravenhurst, Washago, Orillia, Severn Bridge and Muskoka.
Our studio is very large and cozy, and fully equipped with all of the instruments we provide instruction for. Perfect for adults, children, family lessons, group lessons, and private one-on-one lessons.
For parents
Whatever the age or level of ability, we make music lessons fun. Learn along with your child for no extra charge. Our studio is large enough for siblings and parents to hang around and see the progress. We also offer daytime lessons and a music curriculum for home-schooled students and parents. Unsure of what instrument your child wishes to learn? We can help you with your choice with an unbiased opinion since we do not sell or rent instruments.
For the Adult Student
Just tell us what your goal is. Campfire guitar, electric guitar soloing, songwriting, beginner lessons or advanced - give us a call or send us an email for more info. Retirees and shift workers, we are available for lessons from late morning to early evening. Our Studio is large and has a relaxed feel to it, catering to the Adult student.

My son started to learn piano with Tom. It is a great atmosphere as it is structured, but he has lots of fun learning without feeling pressure. It is also great that he talks to him at the same level and not like he is a child. This makes my son feel important and want to practice to impress for the next week..
My daughter recently began guitar lessons with Tom. She LOVES it! She is learning so much from Tom, he is encouraging her and motivates her by allowing her to play the type of music that she enjoys (which isn't always the case with music instructors!) She looks forward to her sessions and leaves the studio with the biggest smile on her face and a sense of accomplishment
Tom has taught my three sons for years, each in a different instrument-drums, guitar and piano. He seems to be able to keep the learning of an instrument fun and exciting for the different personalities my kids each bring to the table. This year they performed two Beatles songs at the Beatles Fest in Orillia- an amazing feat since they have never performed on stage before. I can see that with Tom, my children have developed a love for playing an instrument. He is the first music teacher to turn all of my kids on to loving playing music-thanks Tom

Lesson Policy
the fine print
To deliver value for lessons, it is encouraged to have weekly lessons. Most lessons are 30 minutes in length, but 45 and 60 minute time-slots are available. There are no taxes on music lessons. Most students pay for their lessons one week prior to the start of the calendar month, based on how many lessons fall into the upcoming month. 24 hour notice is appreciated for any cancellations. Make-up lessons may be offered at the discretion of the teacher for lessons that have been paid but not fulfilled. We do not accept credit cards, but we do accept cash and e-transfer payments.
Our Studio Location:
Due to the timing of lessons, please make an appointment if you'd like to meet the teacher and check out the studio. We are located on South Kahshe Lake Road, about 1km in from Highway 11. The studio is a detached building, fully equipped and heated with a wood stove.
